"I am not one to ever leave a bad review about a business. I do feel as though I need to share my negative experience here to possibly save others from wasting your time and money. My family has been with State Farm for 20+ years and will stay with State Farm but not at Jim McGill’s office. My fiancé wanted to join my policy at State Farm since we are soon to be married. When he was quoted by Ligia, he was told it would be $98.20 (made sense for a 28 year old with a perfect driving record). Our first bill came and he was charged $222.26. Pretty significant increase, am I right? We called and were told they would speak with underwriting and never heard back from them. We continued to call everyday and got the same “it’s being reviewed by underwriting” from every staff member. My bill was due and I called again to be told by Joselin to go ahead and pay the bill and we would be credited back. We paid and continued calling and eventually had time off of work on a weekday to go into the office. Come to find out, Ligia illegally pulled parts of my mom’s information to quote my fiancé the $98.20 price. My mom is not apart of my insurance policy - she was on her own policy with Jim McGill. We asked when we would be credited like promised and Karina, the office manager, kept apologizing and said there was nothing they could do for us. My mom got her bill soon after us and her bill was increased. Without asking, without permission, without any consent, they added my fiancé as a driver of my mom’s vehicles on her policy. My mom raised a fit, as she should have, and received a credit. But still, no credit for my fiancé and I. To save everyone from hassle, we went and had my fiancé removed entirely from State Farm. We were told we would receive a refund for the portion we paid for my fiancé that he would no longer be needing. No refund was ever received. My family called and asked to speak directly with Jim McGill. Jim McGill called and said he would look into everything and give my family a call back. Jim McGill never called my family back. We went around to some other State Farm offices and found a couple incredible people to give our business. My entire family (on 4 different policies) requested to transfer State Farm offices and we were told Jim McGill would be giving us a call to understand why we were transferring. He never called a single one of my 7 family members who had policies with his office. Jim McGill and his entire staff know what they did was wrong. We never received the promised credit for the overpayment we were told was “safest”, we never received the promised refund for removing my fiancé from my policy, and we never received a single phone call from their office. I would look into other offices unless you want false quotes, higher bills than discussed, and no communication from their office. Ed Patterson and Dylan Schaefer are incredible to work with. I wish I had only ever communicated via email with Jim McGill’s office so everything was in writing."

"I called twice on 11/14 to have some coverages removed from one of my vehicles and even texted the office. I was helped by Karina whom said she processed the changes I requested and that my bill would go down. Update to today when I went to check my bill, it still didnt update (a whole month later). I requested to move offices and my new agent informed me there were no notes of me requesting these changes from the lady at this office that helped me originally. My new agent rectified this. Very dissatisfied with their lack of attention to detail. Guess customers now have to keep track of things they request for things to be done & done correctly!!"

It's completely reasonable to feel dissatisfied when a service doesn't meet your expectations, and tracking requests shouldn't be the customer's responsibility. While the changes were initiated as you requested, it seems they were not fully completed due to the transfer during the process. "We switched from Progressive to State Farm in August. We were paying $650 for two vehicles and Karina with State Farm got us down to about $270/month. She is so friendly and easy to talk to!
